GST collection in January at Rs 1.55 lakh crore, second highest ever 


 NEW DELHI:  GST collection in January rose to over Rs 1.55 lakh crore,  second highest ever, the finance ministry said on tuesday 
 "From January 2023 to 31.01.2023 17:00, GST collected 1,55,922 rupees of which CGST is  28,963 rupees, SGST is  36,730 rupees, 59 9 IGST is 1 1 rupees on import of goods. and the tax is 10 crores) 630 million rupees (including  768 million kroner collected from the import of goods), the ministry said in its statement.

 percent higher than the GST revenue for the same amounts. 
 This is the third time in the current financial year that the  GST collection has crossed the Rs 1.50 lakh  mark.  GST collection for January 2023 is the second highest after Rs 1.68 lakh crore  reported in April 2022. 
 "During the last year, various efforts have been made to increase the tax base and improve compliance. The rate of submission of GST returns (GSTR-3B) and invoice realization (GSTR-1) by the end of the year has improved significantly. compared with the previous years," said the ministry.
